Troops Recover LTTE T-56 Weapons, Pistols &;amp; an Army Seniority Book

WANNI: TROOPS in PUTHUKUDIYIRUPPU conducted search and clear operations throughout Sunday (12) and recovered one browning pistol, six T-56 weapons, one 60mm mortar launcher, thirty-nine Rocket Propelled Grenades(RPG), eight RPG charges, one disposable RPG launcher, eighty-eight hand grenades, ninety-five Arul bombs, one pouch, two Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) tripods, two 60 mm mortar bombs, three 40 mm cartridges, one box of 12.7 mm ammunition, five hundred and forty rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition, seven 81 mm mortar bombs, eighteen diesel barrels containing 240 litres each, three diesel barrels containing 210 litres each, five kerosene barrels containing 240 litres each, two diving  shoes, four hundred and ten detonators, one thousand six hundred and fifty rounds of pistol ammunition,  twenty-five Jonny mines, one Army seniority book of officers for the year 2003 and three LTTE photo albums from the area.

Meanwhile, troops in VAVUNIYA recovered two T-56 weapons, eight T-56 magazines, two hundred and fifty rounds of T-56 ammunition, one hand grenade, one claymore device, one CDMA telephone, one stethoscope, eight pairs of scissors and medical equipment during a search and clear operation in the general area of GANESHPAURAM on Sunday (12).

In the meantime, troops in BATTICALOA recovered one hand grenade and twenty rounds of T- 56 ammunition in a search operation conducted in the general area of OTTAMAVADI on the same day (12).
