Troops Recover Dead Woman's Remains at Great Western Mountains

3 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops with a team of Commandos of the 112 Infantry Brigade at the request of Lindula Police Station, Talawakele on Wednesday (2) early morning rushed to popular Great Western mountain cliff area and began removing the dead body of an unknown woman, believed to have fallen off the mountain and died several hours or days ago.

Troops after recovery of the remains managed to carry it safely and handed it over to the Nuwara Eliya hospital with Police Officers of the Lindula Police Station.

In another tragic development, one of the soldiers in the recovery team on his way to the location suddenly developed a heart ailment and was admitted to hospital but found dead on admission. Post Mortem and Police investigations are underway.
