Troops Recover Booby Trap Set to Gas Cylinder

WANNI: ARMY TROOPS continuing the search and clear operations in the areas of NARAKAMULLA, IRANAMADU, MULLEYAWELI, PUTHUKKUDDIYIRUPPU, VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL, KARIYALAMULLIVAIKKAL, KAPPUKULAM and ANDANKULAM found, two hundred and eighty-nine anti personnel mines, five Rocket Propelled grenades (RPG), two 120 mm mortar bombs, one claymore mine weighing about 12.5 kg, five claymore mines each weighing about 5 kg,  twelve 60 mm mortar fuses, 5 kg of C-4 explosives, eight RPG chargers, one booby trap set to a gas cylinder, two hand grenades and twenty-one 60 mm mortar bombs on Friday (23).

     Meanwhile, troops of the 231 Brigade in BATTICALOA during their search and clear operations in the general area of KULATHTHAMADU recovered one claymore mine of 1.5 kg with two remote controllers, two 82 hand grenades, six anti personnel mines with fuses, four I-com radio sets, one detonator cord of 1.5 m and two electric detonators the same day evening.
