Troops Plant 200 Mangroves around Nadathivu Lagoon In Muttur

15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops under command to the 223 Brigade of the 22 Division under the Security Force HQ-East launched a project to plant 200 mangrove saplings covering the swamp along Nadathivu lagoon in Muttur on Saturday (25).

The project got underway in collaboration with the Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management office in Muttur. 15 SLLI troops volunteered to carry out the project, considering its environmental impact.

Mr Aruna Gamage, Senior official from the Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management office, Lieutenant Colonel R. Rajaguru, Commanding Officer, 15 SLLI, Major N. Kadadhara, Second In Command, 15 SLLI and several members of the public attended the programme.
