Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in order to help elevate living standards of Jaffna people has begun to buy cow milk from Jaffna farmers for its Yoghurt production, paying higher rates for a milk litre.
5 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) troops at Kankasanthurai accordingly buys milk at the rate of Rs 60 per litre, compared to Rs 48, paid by outside vendors from farmers in Inuvil, Suthumalai, Ponnalai and other suburbs.
Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J) has instructed his troops to launch this project.
