Troops Organize Pack of Relief Essentials to Widow with Children

An initiative taken by 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops of the 223 Brigade of the 22 Division under the Security Force Headquarters-East on Saturday (12) gave a dry ration pack plus essentials to the value of Rs 25,000/= to a deserving widow with two children living in Mollipothana, Thabalagamuwa area.

Mrs Thilini Vithanage, a Colombo-based philanthropist provided the financial sponsorship for this gesture at the request of the 15 SLLI after her miserable plight was brought to the attention of the donor.

The Second in Command officer of the 15 SLLI on behalf of the donor handed over those essential items to the beneficiary after visiting her doorstep, together with a few soldiers.
