Troops Organize Medical Camp &;amp; Pirith Chanting

A special medical clinic, meant for resettled civilians in Olumadu, Ampakamam and Mankulam Grama Seva divisions, provided medical assistance to over 350 civilians with the support of the Balapitiya Lion Club.

The project organized by the 28 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops received the support of 613 Brigade and the Task Force 3 troops.

On the same occasion, 250 school children and 100 civilians were provided school accessories and packets of dry rations respectively. The cost for dry rations was borne by the 28 SLNG troops. A representative group of Balapitiya Lions Club also participated in the project.

Meanwhile, the foundation stone for construction of 25 new houses in the Kokeliya village under 56 Division was laid last week. Similarly, a Pirith chanting ceremony plus an alms giving was held at Vavuniya, Etambagaskada Purana Vihara on January 26 in order to invoke blessings on the country. Senior officers in the 56 Division took part in the arrangements.
