Soldiers of 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) as part of their training exercises provided labour to clean up Periyapachchilaipallai Ganesh Kovil and Bahirawa Devalaya in the area.
On Friday (7) these soldiers cleaned up the premises and made the sacred places easily accessible for religious observances. On the following day too, these soldiers continued their support since the heap of garbage around the area was relatively very big.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of 553 Brigade Commander Colonel S.P.V.S Subasinghe. Rev. Thasathurai, Kurukkal of the Kovil attended the occasion.
