Following instructions given by the Directorate of Operations at the Army HQ and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division, Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, 234 Infantry Brigade troops of the 23 Infantry Division in Punani conducted a Dengue Prevention Programme in the east on 24 May 2023.
Troops of the 7 Sri Lanka Artillery and the 12 Gemunu Watch in coordination with the Polonnaruwa office of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), carried out the Dengue eradication programme in Polonnaruwa and its suburbs.
More than 100 troops, belonging to the 234 Infantry Brigade with Health Inspectors in the MOH Polonnaruwa, Police officers of Polonnaruwa and local community members, joined hands together to make the programme a success.
