All Ranks of 11 Division organized a tree planting programme to coincide with World Environment Day, with the participation of Hon Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Governor of Central Province at Mailapitiya, Kandy ‘Remembrance Park’.
Governor of the Central Province planted a sapling to mark the inauguration of the event.
Meanwhile, other participants, General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, senior officers of Army and Navy together with officers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment too contributed to the programme.
In the meantime, troops serving the 571 Brigade of Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) together with religious leaders of the area conducted a tree planting programme and cleaning campaign on the same day to mark the World Environment Day.
