Troops Launch Awareness Programme on 'Drug Prevention' for Jaffna Students

Following an initiative taken by the General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, an awareness programme on 'Drug Prevention', meant for students at Jaffna/ Weerahaththipillai Maha Vidyalaya, Thondaimanaru.got underway on Monday (6 November).

The 521 Infantry Brigade HQ along with 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops organized the community-oriented project under the guidance of the Deputy General Officer Commanding, Brigadier W.L.A.C Perera RWP RSP USP, Lieutenant Colonel O.R.S Kumara, District Coordinator of the Bureau of the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation (BCGR) in Jaffna coordinated the lectures for students.

The prominent counsellor of philosophy and psychology, Rev Father Salwamoriyanu J Nirmal Suranjan as the invited resource person contributed to the sessions and shared his insights on the prevention of dangerous drugs for the benefit of children.
