A large group of Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C), headed by Major General Laksiri Waduge, Commander, Security Forces - Central, university undergraduates, school students and volunteers in the area under the ‘Sirasa’ TV ‘Gammedda’ programme joined a tree planting drive in the general hilly area of Nariyakanda (Fox Hill) in Diyatalawa on Saturday (29).
The drive, themed on ‘Conserve Environment - Cultivate Trees’ concept began around 8.00 a.m. and planted about 2000 saplings in selected areas with the intention of enhancing the forest cover in the said area.
