Troops' Initiative Gets Drinking Water Storage for Tikkana Villagers

With the financial contribution given by Ven. Rideegama Gnaneshwara Thero, a 5000 ltr plastic water tank was installed in the Tikkana Village - Kathiraveli fulfilling a long-felt requirement for drinking water. The gesture coincided with the forthcoming 29th Anniversary of the 233 Brigade - Vakarai.

It was effected under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 23 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasundara, on Friday (21) during a simple ceremony.

Additionally, dry ration packs, each worth of Rs.7000, school items, stationery and many other essential goods were also distributed among 35 families in the village under the supervision of the Commander 233 Brigade Colonel Rajitha Elvitigala. Major General Rasika Fernando, Commander, Security Forces-East has given his blessings for the project.

The Chief Incumbent of Sri Vidulupura Shasana Pradeeparama Temple Ven. Rideegama Gnaneshwara Thero, the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Major General Dhammika Jayasundara, accompanied by the Commander 233 Brigade, donors of Pradeeparama temple, Senior Officers, Other Ranks, and civilians were also present at the event.

The lunch was offered to all who were present at the programme. The approximate cost of the water project and the distribution of essential goods stood at Rs. 1.3 million. Authentic Nike Sneakers | Nike
