With curfew in force in order to keep off people from contracting COVID-19 pandemic, troops of the 17 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) disinfected the entire township of Mallavi and Thunukkai on Wednesday (26) in cooperation with the staff at the Divisional Secretariat by spraying anti-virus and bacteria chemicals in order to control further transmission of the virus within the area.
This programme was launched on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Jayantha Gunaratne and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General D.M.H. D Bandara.
