On information received from Military Intelligence, troops of the 12 Division under command to the Security Force HQ - Central on Tuesday (3) raided a Cannabis (Ganja) cultivation in the general area of Kem Hatha Wewa in Tanamalwila and destroyed it.
The illegal crop cultivation, grown in about 25 perches of land has been done secretly inside jungle areas to the value of about Rs 10 m. The Thanamalwila Police also visited the location after its detection after the information was intimated to them by the troops.
The Thanamalwila Police are conducting investigations and pursuing necessary action.
