MULLAITIVU: DURING search and clear operations conducted separately in IRANAMADU and VISUAMADU areas on Sunday (28), troops recovered one trap gun, one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) bomb with charger, one 81mm mortar bomb, three Arul bombs, two 60 mm mortar bombs, one claymore mine weighing 12.5 kg, two hand grenades, thirteen C4 packets of explosives, each weighing 25 g and three packs, nineteen anti-personnel mines, twenty-seven 60mm mortar bombs, one hand grenade, four RPG bombs, three RPG chargers, two claymore mines of 2.5kg each and twenty-three detonators.
In the meantime, search operations in the general areas of KALMADUKULAM, MUDALIYARKULAM and KARYALAMULLAVAIKKAL recovered one electric mine, one S-85 weapon with silencer, four S-85 magazines, one HK weapon with 03 magazines, one mini Uzi weapon with one magazine, one M-75 Czech pistol, one shotgun, twenty-nine claymore mines, eighteen RPG chargers, eight firing devices, seventeen RPG bombs, six detonator codes, two Outboard Motors (OBM), 2 kg of C-4 explosives.
The same day, another haul of LTTE items were found by the troops from MULLAYAVALAI, VELLAMULLAVAIKKAL, PUTHUKUDUIRRUPPU and VELLAMULLAVAIKKAL areas. The recovery included one laptop computer, one digital camera, two mobile phones, one T-56 weapon, one claymore mine, twenty three 60 mm mortar bombs, twenty 12.7 mm rounds, five T-56 weapons, two 9 mm pistols, three 9 mm magazines, two Global Positioning Systems (GPS), one I-com set, one gas mask, one M-16 A2 weapon with one magazine and one Silva compass, sixty 60 mm mortar bombs, ten 60 mm mortar chargers and one RPG bomb.
Meanwhile, twenty- five 60 mm mortar bombs, four RPG bombs, two booby traps, forty-three anti-personnel mines, one hundred and fifty 82 mm mortar bombs, sixteen 81mm mortar bombs, one shotgun and forty-nine anti personnel mine fuses were found by the troops from PUTHUMATTALAN area Sunday (28).
