Major General Mahinda Mudalige, General Officer Commanding 24 Division at the invitation of the Chief Incumbent at Buddhangala Aranya Senasana, Ven. Deegawapiye Susima Thero on Saturday (23 ) as the Chief Guest ceremonially declared open the newly-constructed concrete road patch that leads from the temple entrance to its nearby rock after naming it as ‘Buddhangala Samadhi Buddha Prathima Mawatha’ in Ampara.
This road was constructed by under command troops of the 24 Division and the Corps of Engineer Service Regiment. Major Buddhika Dissanayake, Commanding Officer of 16 SLNG supervised and mobilized his troops for this construction on the directions of the General Officer Commanding.
