12 Battalion Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) troops in cooperation with Police personnel and civilians in the area jointly conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign to clean Kalkuda Beach on Thursday (20), following an initiative taken by 231 Brigade Headquarters of the 23 Division.
Meanwhile, 3 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops with the sponsorship of Foundation of Goodness, distributed 268 milk powder packets, among students at Kalmunai Sinhala School, Uhana Senagama School and Deegawapiya Abeyrathna pre-school in Addalachchena.
The programme on Monday (May 20) was supported by troops of 3 Battalion VIR, 16 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) and 28 Battalion SLNG serving the 631 Brigade of Task Force 3 under the Security Force Headquarters -East (SFHQ-E).
