Troops Complete Temple Project as Directed by HE the President

5 (V) Gajaba Regiment troops renovated and restructured the old 'Sanghawasaya' (residential monastery) at Viharahalmillewa Rajamaha Viharaya as a follow-up project as per instructions, given by His Excellency the President during the recent “Gama Samaga Pilisandarak' programme at Kebithigollewa.

The project got underway under the supervision of Colonel Rohan Medagoda, Commander 623 Brigade under the given by Major General Hemantha Bandara, Commander, Security Forces-Wanni and Major General Upali Gunasekara, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, with the direction of the Commander of the Army.

After renovation, the 'Sanghawasaya' was re-vested in the members of the Maha Sangha on 13 July 2021 by Major General Hemantha Bandara, Commander, Security Forces- Wanni during a simple ceremony, organized by the 62 Division. 'Seth Prith' chanting and an alms-giving for monks took place as a special feature on the occasion.

Corps of Engineer Service Regiment in the 62 infantry Division showcased their creativity, technical knowhow and engineering skills through the construction of this new abode for members of the Maha Sangha.
