A Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour saluted the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 61 Division, Brigadier W.A Wanniaarachchi in accordance with military traditions during a formal farewell, held at the 61 Division premises on Monday (3).
Troops of the 61 Division presented the Guard of Honour at the 61 Division parade grounds. Brigade Commanders of 611, 612, and 613 Brigades, Commanding Officers and many officers and other ranks were present to witness the event.
Addressing the troops of the 61 division Brigadier W.A Wanniaarachchi thanked all ranks for their generous assistance and support extended to him during his tenure.
He is to take over another appointment shortly.
