Troops of the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) and 2 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) under command to the Security Force HQ - West provided their fullest support to control the fire that suddenly occurred at Kandana ‘Global Care Products Company (Pvt) Ltd’ on Tuesday (8 August) morning.
A contingent of 70 Army personnel together with, Sri Lanka Navy personnel and officials of the Fire Brigade managed to extinguish the fire which had caused a considerable damage to the complex.
141 Infantry Brigade Commander and Commanding Officers of 8 SLLI and 2 SLASC physically attended the location and provided necessary directions.
Troops at the same time assisted admission of students in the nearby St. Sebastian's College, affected due to emissions of the factory on fire to the hospital as the fire was being brought under control by mid-afternoon.
