Troops Assist Transport of Relief Items from South to Northern Flood Victims

58 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters- West on the directions of the Commander of the Army and the Security Force Headquarters- West responded positively to a request of the Presidential Task Force for Flood relief work for Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu and assisted the transport of a stock of relief items, provided by Southerners for the benefit of flood victims on Tuesday (1).

Accordingly, 58 Division troops,SFHQ-West troops,SFHQ-Wanni troops and SFHQ-KLN and other troops showed up at Matara, Galle, Kaluthara South, Colombo Fort, Maradana, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Mahawa, Galgamuwa, Anuradhapura and Kilinochchi railway stations when the train carrying relief goods reached those spots and assisted taking those packets into the train.

Meanwhile, 21 Division Brigade troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Tuesday (1) loaded a stock of relief items for flood victims when the ‘Yaal Devi’ train from the South carrying essentials reached Anuradhapura railway station.

21 Division troops in close cooperation with Railway Department employees collected those items from civilians and stocked them before those packets were loaded to the train.
