400 packs of essential dry ration packs with food varieties, each pack worth of Rs 3000 were distributed among poor people in Walathapitiya Tamil village in Amapara, following sponsorship, provided by Ven Suseema Thero of Buddangala Buddhist Monstery in Ampara on Tuesday (15).
The 24 Division in coordination with the donor took those packs to the recipients' homes and distributed them after selecting the most needy families in remote areas.
Ven Suseema Thero, 24 Division's General Officer Commanding, Major General Chaminda Lamahewa, officials of the Divisional Secretariat Ampara, officers and troops participated in the distribution.
