Troops of the 5 Gemunu Watch swiftly tackled a wildfire at Warunagama Kanda in the Wellawaya Area on 02 March 2024.
One Officer and twenty soldiers managed to contain the fire, which had spread across 17 acres of the Warunagama Kanda forest.
The successful operation was conducted under the guidance of Brigadier A.D Rodrigo RWP RSP psc, the Commander of the Air Mobile Brigade.
