Troops of the 21 Infantry Division, 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, and 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment successfully repaired a partially damaged section of the Diwulwewa Tank bund on 10th January 2025. The damage posed a significant risk to the surrounding community.
Under the guidance of Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, and with close supervision of the Deputy General Officer Commanding and Commanding Officers, the troops acted swiftly to stabilise the situation.
With support from the local community, soldiers strengthened the bund using sandbags by preventing potential flooding. Their timely efforts ensured the safety and security in the area.
