Troops of 2 (V) VIR Construct Two Houses

The troops of 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) constructed a new house for a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the battalion at Lunupahichchawa, Madawachchiya. The project, carried out under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of 2 (V) VIR, was funded by contributions from retired and serving Officers and Other Ranks of 2 (V) VIR.

Additionally, the troops built a house for a needy family at Lindawewa, Madawachchiya. This project was sponsored by Mr. Darshana Gunasekara from Australia and coordinated by Mrs. M.C. Malawiarchchi, the Divisional Secretary, Madawachchiya.

Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), graced the housewarming ceremony as the chief guest on 19 November 2024. He officially handed over the keys to the newly built houses to the respective recipients amidst religious blessings.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks were present at the event.
