Troops of 1 SLNG Rescue Civilians Stranded by Floods

Due to adverse weather conditions, troops of the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard successfully rescued three individuals stranded by floodwaters in Welpothuwewa, Kobeigane Divisional Secretariat area on 28 November 2024.

The troops utilised a boat, a light vehicle, a heavy vehicle, and specialised search and rescue tools for this rescue operation. Under the guidance of Major General W.M.P.M. Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division, the operation ensured the safe rescue of the civilians, reaffirming the military's commitment to assisting communities during emergencies.
