Troops of the 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment with the objective of uplifting the standards of school environment organized a cleaning programme at Iyakachchi GTM School on Friday (04 August).
This programme was arranged for the benefit of students in order to rid garbage piles inside the school compound, a threat to health. The academic and non-academic staff and school children also took part in the programme.
Further, the programme was conducted under the close supervision of the Commanding Officer, 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division and the Commander, 522 Infantry Brigade.
