‘Ranaviru Piyasa Sampath Nuwara’, the model housing complex, dedicated for residential purposes of tri-service War Heroes in Welioya area under Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) was formally inaugurated on Monday (24) after delivering deeds to 52 recipients of new houses with 80 perch land blocks during a ceremony.
The housing project, brought to fruition, following a novel concept of the Secretary Defence and Urban Development, Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa who has been in constant touch with welfare projects of tri-service War Heroes, consists of common amenities including shops, community halls, recreation facilities and all other requirements.
Amidst blessings of Seth Pirith, recited by members of the Maha Sangha, Major General Boniface Perera, Security Force Commander - Wanni symbolically warmed one such house and delivered the deeds to all 52 tri-service recipients.
Welioya Divisional Secretary Mr Deepal Siriwardena, Housing Development Authority District Manager (Mullaittivu) Mr Vijitha K Gamage, General Officer Commanding 62 Division, family members of house recipients, invitees and a large gathering of civilians in the area attended the ceremony.
