Troops of 511 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J) conducted a Sharamadana campaign at College of Education - Kopay with the participation of trainees on Monday (7).
15 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops and 25 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops serving the 511 Brigade and 25 trainees of the College took part in the Sharamadana.
The Sharamadana was of academic importance to the trainees of the Environment Protection Circle of the College since it provided practical knowledge on the importance of environment protection.
College Principal Mr. S. Amirthalingam and the trainees requested the Army to offer the some type of assistance in the future.
On the instructions of the Commander 511 Brigade Colonel Priyanka Fernando, Civil Affairs Officer of coordinated the programme.
