Timely Action of the Troops Douse Kilinochchi Fire

The sudden fire broke out at Central Market Kilinochchi town at around 09.15 pm on Friday (16) was brought under control within 2 hours by 57 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN).

In response to a request made by the Kilinochchi police station to the troops for help, troops of 57 Division managed to control the spreading fire despite strong winds that prevailed at that time. Using fire extinguishers in the Army and timely action prevented the spread of fire more than line of 250 shops in the town.
