MULLAITTIVU: DESPERATE and panicking Tiger terrorists in the VALAYANMADAM “No Fire Zone” (NFZ) in the past 24 hours after they rammed an explosive-filled lorry for a suicidal mission early Tuesday (28) morning have carried out seven suicide attacks ending Wednesday (29) mid-noon.
Terrorists Wednesday (29) morning carried out three suicide missions, targeting advancing troops and military hardware. Two of those LTTE suicide bombers on two motorbikes blew themselves up targeting advancing troops, but the troops took necessary precautions and escaped injury.
Just two hours after motorbike explosions, one more LTTE double cab proceeding at a break neck’s speed towards the troops blew itself up when the troops started showering bullets at it considering the nature of its speedy movement.
On Tuesday (28), except for the lorry explosion, three more suicide attempts were made by Tigers in the NFZ, but the troops taking cover behind the pierced LTTE earth bund escaped unhurt.
It is evident that terrorists, now fighting for their survival appear to be resorting to suicidal missions to avoid being caught by surging troops at this last phase of the war.
