THE 45TH DAY commemoration of late Ms. Maheshwary Velautham, Attorney-at-Law and Advisor to Dougals Devananda, Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare, assassinated by Tiger terrorists on 13th May, 2008, was held on the 27th of June at \"Amir Mahal\", Rohini Road, Wellawata.
After the religious functions, Prof. Tissa Vitharana, Minister of Science and Technology, said the late Ms. Velautham was not a person who spoke only on the rights of a single race of this country, but a noble lady who spoke on the rights of all human beings and at the All Party Conference her contribution was of immense importance. Her demise was a great loss to society.
Rev. Baddegama Samitha, former M.P., Vasudewa Nanayakkara, Leader of the Opposition of Colombo Municipality, S. Sivathasan, former M.P. and present Chairman of Palmyrah Board and many eminent persons their addresses.
