In line with the 'Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak' project, the troops of the 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry organized a programme to plant and distribute 'Mahua' saplings, which are highly beneficial for the agriculture industry, on 20 March 2024 at the 56 Infantry Division. This project was carried out under the guidance of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.
The General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division, Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, graced the event as the chief guest. During the event, the General Officer Commanding engaged in discussions with farmers, addressing the challenges and difficulties they encounter in their agricultural endeavors.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Government Officials, and residents in the area participated in the occasion.
