Thirty-Nine More Seek Safety from Army Troops

WELIOYA: THIRTY-NINE CIVILIANS belonging to thirteen families, unable to survive LTTE atrocities in their residential areas in MULLAITTIVU district reached PULMODAI, WELIOYA Wednesday (2) afternoon around 3.30 p.m. in search of protection for their lives.

The group had twenty-six males and thirteen females, including a few children. Those civilians have come on foot for miles through jungles before they boarded some vehicles, according to the escapees.

Those civilians have been sent to the Internally Displaced Persons centre (IDP).
