THIRD SIOC TRAINED SOLDIERS PASS OUT IN PALALY

The pass-out parade of Jaffna-based Army personnel\'s third Special Infantry Operational Course (SIOC), meant to inculcate good team-work spirit and help maintain a well-balanced state of mind, took place on Thursday (12) morning at Palaly Air Force Airport base under the auspices of Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna Major General M. D. S Chandrapala.

This SIOC training, followed by four Officers and ninety two Other Ranks, is the brainchild of Major General G. S. C Fonseka who was formerly the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna.

This demanding course was primarily aimed at promoting and enhancing psychological capacity of the soldiers who toil day and night to defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of this island-nation and also to match and develop their physical talents to face any crisis. The course includes airborne manoeuvres, engineering, sniper training school training, medical course, etc.

A model demonstration of their training practices was also staged at the pass-out parade before a distinguished gathering of three services.
