Students at Point Pedro Methodist Girls’ High School in the Jaffna peninsula learnt more about oral health and got their teeth examined during a special programme, organized by the 521 Brigade Headquarters under the 52 Division.
More than 382 students and 3 teachers received consultations from dentists during the mobile clinic, held early last week. In addition, 25 students were referred for extractions and refilling.
On the same day, a lecture on oral health, delivered by Dr A. Senthilkumaran of Manthikai Base Hospital and Dr Siriniwasan, together with Ms Nadeera of the dental unit, enlightened the students on various aspects of oral health. More than 990 students and 12 teachers listened to the lecture.
Troops of 7 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) offered their labour to make the project a success. 521 Brigade senior officers, lady Principal and teachers were associated with the day’s arrangements.
