An awareness programme, supported by Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) on ‘Handling of Social Media and its Bad Effects’ got underway on Wednesday (20) at the Colombo Army Hospital auditorium Narahenpita, following an initiative taken by Brigadier (Dr) Mrs H.T Wickramasekara, Directress, Directorate of Preventive Medicine & Mental Health Services.
The lecture focused on how the social media should be used positively and the impact ofits adverse effects with the objective of reducing physical, mental and social stress prevalent among all ranks.
Mr Roshan Chandraguptha, Information Security Engineer, SLCERT and Mr Purna Wickramasinghe, Information Analyst, SLCERT delivered those educative lectures.
More than 350 Officers and Other Ranks serving all branches and Directorates in the Army Headquarters listened to the lectures.
Directorate of Preventive Medicine & Mental Health Services expects to expand the programme to all SFHQs and formations in future.
