Wedding bells rang on one more differently-able War Hero of Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), resident in Kamburupitiya-based ‘Abimansala-2’ (wellness resort) on Thursday (12) at Wadduwa Laya Beach Hotel when he tied nuptial knots with his fiancée who had been waiting for him well over 13 years.
Bridegroom, Sergeant P.D.P Pathiranage of 1 SLSC whilst serving in 10 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (RFT) during Wanni humanitarian operations, sustained injuries at Sugandipuram due to an LTTE explosion and turned physically handicapped. His disability however did not pose any bar to his unfailing romance with Ms Sriyani Sandya Kumari, although he is still under recuperation and rehabilitation at ‘Abimansala-2’ in Kamburupitiya.
The ceremonial wedding with matrimonial rites and rituals, adorned the hotel in the presence of a large gathering of visitors to the occasion. Among them were the SLSC Colonel Commandant, Major General Prabhath Dematanpitiya who is also the Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College as the Chief Guest. He attested the marriage on behalf of the bridegroom. A large gathering of other Senior Officers and invitees of the couple witnessed the ceremonial wedding. Adidas footwear | Nike Shoes
