They Give Blood to Patients at Jaffna Teaching Hospital to Mark Anniversary

Commemorating the 18th Anniversary of the 51 Division, now based in Kopai, troops donated blood for the use of patients at Jaffna Teaching Hospital during a recent special arrangement.

More than 163 officers and other ranks of the 51 Division voluntarily offered blood to the blood bank unit of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital. Dr T. Pradeepan, several members of the medical staff assisted the project.

As the second leg of the anniversary ceremony troops attended multi religious observances at the Buddhist place of worship within 51 Division Headquarters premises, Maradanmadam Hanuman temple (Hindu), Atchuveli St Mary’s Church (Catholic) and Majeed Jumma Mosque in Jaffna (Islamic) as the dusk fell.
