Army woman recruits from Mullaittivu areas were recently taken on a familiarization tour to the South while still under training at the SFHQ-MLT after their recruitment to the Army a few weeks ago.
The three-day tour organized jointly by the SFHQ-MLT and Directorate of Training at Army Headquarters, covered areas of tourist, cultural and religious interest, including the airport, highways, parliament complex, War Hero monument, Ramanadan Hindu Girls’ College, Wellawatta Hindu Kovil, Rupavahini Corporation, BMICH, Colombo Harbour, Kochchikade St Anne’s Church, Lake House, Ganagarama Temple, Nelum Pokuna, House of Fashions, Zoo, Museum, Army Headquarters, President’s House, Independence Square and a few other places.
Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT taking a personal interest in the arrangement, instructed his officers to provide them with maximum facilities and entertainment during their stay in Colombo.
