With the motive of improving Tamil language proficiency among troops serving the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), a Tamil proficiency course commenced on Tuesday (28) at the Battalion Training School, Alampil, Mullaittivu.
The course is assisted by instructors form National Institute of Language Education and Training. 8 Officers and 72 Other Rankers are attending the course and the course will continue for a few weeks.
Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, graced the inaugural lecture session as the Chief Guest.
Meanwhile, another Tamil proficiency course, with the intention of enhancing knowledge on Tamil language among military personnel serving the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) also began on Monday (27) at the Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (AIPT) School, Bharathipuram.
The 12-day long course is assisted by instructors from the National Institute of Language Education and Training. 5 Officers and 78 Other Rankers are attending the course that will continue till 8 May.
