The Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), intending to find solutions to any issues related to war-affected disable War Heroes serving Ranaviru Apparels, Yakkala conducted one more round of its ‘mobile service’ arrangement on Tuesday (26).
During the mobile service, Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB handed over a stock of British manufactured 85 Gel socks with an extra stock of socks for the use of disable War Heroes. The stock has been donated by a group of Sri Lankans resident in Canada for the exclusive use of War Heroes at Ranaviru Apparels. She also gave away gift parcels to 850 War Heroes during this project with the sponsoring support of the MAS Active.
Tuesday’s mobile service at Yakkala gave the opportunity to disable Officers and Other Ranks the chance of directly meeting most senior officers of the Army Directorate of Welfare, Directorate of Additional Welfare, Directorate of Medical Services, Directorate of Rehabilitation, Directorate of Pay & Records and a few other wings in the Army of direct relevance and concern to them in order to find solutions for their burning issues on the spot avoiding time-consuming formalities.
Several disable War Heroes attending the occasion sought assistance for the speedy grant of Army loans that have been applied while some other disable War Heroes aired their grievances on planned completion of their partly-built houses and non-availability of either an own house or a plot of land to call for themselves.
Different separate panels that gave patient hearing to those disable War Heroes throughout the day identified and evaluated their problems and promised them speedy action as most of the decision-makers in the Army were also associated with the day’s arrangement at Ranaviru Apparels. The occasion also permitted those disable War Heroes to find counseling and different guidelines for various problems in their personal home fronts, educational sphere of their children, social and cultural issues, health care, etc.
On the same occasion, Mrs Jayasuriya, promptly responding to several requirements such as completion of partly-thatched roofs, purchase of water pumping machines or plastic water tanks, etc gave an undertaking to do the needful as soon as possible on behalf of the SVAB with the support of donors and philanthropists in the civil sector.
Chairpersons of all Seva Vanitha Units and senior SVAB members attended the event.
