FIVE ‘Sam's Chicken’ outlets owned by prominent Sinhala businessman Sam Chandrasinha at Wembley, Kingsbury, Wilsden, Sudbury Hill and Cricklewood in London were attacked by suspected Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) supporters last week.
Chandrasinha said that these attacks were launched during the early and late night hours of Wednesday (20).
"Glass fronts were smashed, but we quickly repaired them and started business again", he said. "However, the staff who are Sinhalese were deeply disturbed by these attacks".
Police are investigating but no arrests have been made so far.
Chandrasinha donated nearly £30,000/= (around six million rupees) to the 'Api Wenuwen Api' Fund a few months ago.
Sri Saddathissa Buddhist Centre in Kingsbury was also attacked for the 10th time early last Sunday. Chief monk of the Vihara, Galayaye Piyadassi Thero said that this time British Police were able to arrest a suspect in connection with the attack.
It was also reported that acid has been thrown at two Sinhala youth in Harrow.
