Students at Sugandhipuram Primary School Get Incentives Thru Army

Needy students studying in the Sugandhipuram Primary School on Saturday (25) were the recipients of X'mas gifts by way of school accessories, thanks to the coordination of sponsorship by the General Officer Commanding of the 68 Division, Major General Keerthi Bandara.

9 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 681 Brigade organized the donation programme with the objective of uplifting educational standards of those students in the primary school in Sugandhipuram.

At the request of the troops, the donor, Mr W M C U Pathberiya has volunteered to sponsor the cost of those books and school accessories, gifted to the children during a simple ceremony, attended by Brigade Commander of the 681 Brigade, Brigadier D.R.N Hettiarachchi, Commanding Officer, 9 SLNG, Major W.C.D.D Kumara, Commanding Officer of the 6 Gemunu Watch, Major H.M.R Henninayake. 06 Officers and 25 Other Ranks supported the smooth conduct of the distribution.

The event followed stipulated health guidelines.
