Around 500 students at Puthukudyirrippu Central College were educated on the dangers of drugs, its addiction and prevention on 22 March 2023 during an awareness project, implemented by Major General Darshana Wijesekera, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu under the close supervision of Major General Senaka Kasthurimudali, General Officer Commanding of the 68 Infantry Division.
The Assistant Director of the Dangerous Drugs Control Board with four more officials delivered valuable lectures for the aforesaid programme and educated the attendees. The Brigade Commander of the 682 Infantry Brigade took the lead in organizing the whole programme in coordination with school and education authorities.
The General Officer Commanding of the 68 Infantry Division, Brigade Commander of the 682 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers, Divisional and Zonal Education Director of Mullaittivu, Principal, Central College of Puthukuduirrippu, teachers and students took part in the arrangement.
Meanwhile, the same programme with lectures took place on Tuesday (21) at the 68 Infantry Division HQ premises. More than 340 troops of the 68 Infantry Division listened to the lectures delivered by officials of the Dangerous Drugs Control Board.
