Army Troops serving the 521 Brigade in 52 Division under the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ -J), assisted the conduct of a dental clinic and an awareness programme on Oral Health for school children at Hartley College, Point Pedro on Tuesday (07).
Dentists and medical staff from Manthikai Base Hospital and Manthikai office of the Medical Officer of Health provided their service to the mobile clinic.
The programme was organized on the directions of Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, SFHQ-J. 7th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) provided complete labour assistance. More than 315 students were benefited as the clinic got underway. 47 students were referred for extractions and refilling.
Principal, teachers and students together with some parents attended the occasion.
