Troops of the 58 Division with the intention of promoting educational interests among pre-school kids and students and also improving living standards of low income families in Nelumwewa and Konwewa villages in Puttalam area, coordinated the donation of school equipment, uniforms, shoes and sports accessories to them, sponsored by Oman Airlines and Vision Care Pvt Ltd on 27 June 2020.
Accordingly, 32 pre-school students in 5 pre-schools received clothes and sports items, 15 school students were gifted with shoes and 10 needy families were given dry-rations under this project.
Mr Sagara Weerasinghe representing Oman Airlines and Ms Dilanka Silva of Vision Care Pvt Ltd joined the distribution of those relief supplies, together with Major General Priyanka Fernando, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division.
