Thirteen persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (27). Among them were 3 expatriates from Kenya (1), Maldives (2) in quarantine at Hotel Nuwarawewa QC and Diyagama Sports Complex QC. Other 10 persons are detainees at Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu. By 6.00 am this morning (27), the total detained at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts stands at 639. Of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
The flight QR 668 from Doha Qatar with 12 passengers and the flight UL 220 from Kuwait with 157 passengers arrived in Colombo and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.
As of today (27), 630 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 03 persons are from Nipuna Bossa QC, 01 person from Ruwala Kalpitiya QC, 73 from Iranamadu QC, 09 from 59 Division QC, 70 persons from Mulankavil QC, 171 persons from Mount Lavinia QC, 06 persons from Hotel Carolina QC, 288 persons from Hotel Amariya QC and 09 persons from Rajagiriya Ayurvedic QC. Likewise, 7,386 persons in 70 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (26), 1780 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 213,462.
Meanwhile, 03 infected positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (27). Three of them were identified as expatriates. Accordingly, 607 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu after recovery have so far left.
