State Sector Officials Enlightened on Use of 'Harmony Centre' at Kilinochchi


A group of state officials from the District Secretariat for Kilinochchi had a cordial meeting with Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Friday (14) with a view to receiving an update on multifaceted humanitarian services, being provided by the Army through "Harmony Centre" project in the centre of Kilinochchi.

The meeting at SFHQ-KLN was told about projects such as award of scholarships to students, supply of humanitarian assistance, various training sessions, conduct of educating lectures, women empowerment programmes, offer of self-employment projects, reading halls, public utilities, etc, implemented  through this "Harmony Centre", a novel conceptual move, designed to promote reconciliation, ethnic harmony, co-existence, etc.

Major General Ranasinghe in his briefing on those roles requested the officials to enlighten the public to make use of those facilities and seek assistance whatsoever, needed to elevate their living standards since the Army is prepared to extend its full support all the time.

Several senior officers serving the SFHQ-KLN were present during the discussion.
